I came back crying after trying out a Vanilla RO for the old times' sake (and to play some 3rds), but I can't get used to the lack of Mouish features... and sadly MouRO still isn't working, or so considering what I read here.

It's more related to RO being updated beyond a certain date, will not work properly with the client/grfs that I provide for the game.

Hence, the new grfs include all the lua files to avoid that outdated problem. It's still not done... I can't get on the map server :S

At least the packets are being sent/received, and I manage to get shared palettes working (the char-select screen works ). So ... well, I've been getting some progress, on the very least.

Is anybody bothering to count? I thought we lost count long ago.

EDIT: Okay, the latest rathena trunk version allowed me to log in. Now I need to import whatever behaviour is different between rathena-trunk and eathena-trunk to get Mouro working :S This may still take a while, seeing how I should play somewhat to make sure skills/mobs/whatevers aren't crashing @_@

Well, I COULD allow people to play right now. I have a client that connects to the server, and it SEEMS to work.

But there are still some bugs I need to deal with. Like, all skill data and items showing up in gibberish rather than English :S

And I have yet to engage in serious battle to see if anything breaks. I hardly remember how to play RO x_x;

Not quite... I made some progress, and the problem was that the LUA files were placed in the wrong directory.

Problem is, when I fix that, it starts conflicting with the LUA files already in the grf (the ones I am not replacing, it seems). D:

Worse is, I bump into functions that are nowhere to be found in the recommended LUA files according the rathena forums T_T

So, I am doing some searches in the boards for others with similar problems so I can figure out how to fix this.

EDIT: So.. it seems the client I picked is not a good date, because the LUA problems I have disappear on a later version.

Why is it that I was told this was the most stable client supported by rathena, then? D: Gosh, the RO community is so splintered and useless. :/

EDIT2: And it turns out there was a new repository for the client-side translations that I was not aware of. I can get the new lub files from there, as well as all the other translation files I did not have before T_T; It could take me a while to port the Mou changes to these new files... though I will try to translate the minimum necessary to have a playable server (lua files) for now... :S

i can't be thankful enough for your time and efforts, it's almost alluring the way you make me wait <3

Tell us what we can help with when possible. Believe or not we want Mou back as quick as possible too. \o/

Help with? Well, finding bugs and translation errors once I get this running :v

Currently, the lua files are fine, and I updated most of the adata and bdata grfs. I lost the skill/item names/descs in English again :S So I am looking into that.

It seems unlikely I can finish this same weekend D: but I should be done sometime early next week.

Also, if you are interested in playing, I hope you have an updated RO installation, if not, start getting one from RMS.

Getting hit by a ridiculous high level skill at level 1, surviving, then murdering the shit out of the low level mob with a previously useless vanilla skill is half of the core MouRO experience, I feel.

The other half is mobbing Odiums with a full LUK build to harvest the Valkyrie Armor set drops.

Hmm.... I need to review the old bugs once the update is complete.

Currently, it seems to be working fine. I didn't give it any indepth testing, but at least warping/npcs/fighting seems to be all right.

The bugs I know of so far are:
- Need to add the Mou specific changes to items and skill descriptions (these files changed format, so I need to manually update them again)
- Pet HP bars do not auto-update
- There's some kind of bug in the creation of savedata/OptionInfo.lua (this client option changes aren't being loaded on client restart).

I am currently looking into this last issue before I can bundle an acceptable installer. After that ... well, there's the issue of just how much I can take from rA when I am running the eA-trunk base. :S Can I just copy over all scripts/databases (e.g: new monsters fields, and dungeons)?

I will, on the very least, need to figure out ways to have the new content not bark up when it bumps into unsupported things by the code (e.g.: new script commands or usage of new skills).

But, for the time being, I'd be happy to be able to ship a working client
