Also, it's a fair comparison. At the end of the day, we're all posting on a dead server populated only by forum trolls. We're not any better than Vitriol or above him just because our posts are readable and our trolling is haute classe.

[ I tried bringing a single person here, but he seems to fail hard at installing the game and too lazy to be able to get the server running. Honestly, I probably wouldn't install mou too if I didn't already know the server from having played once [back when it was sorta easier to install it] when silver told me about this place. I think that his nickname here is "Tsuzuki". ]

i wouldn't call transexuals that way...but abusing surgeries like michael jackson kinda fill the definition. and yup keep getting the error, btw i deleted all my files i had and downloaded all the files from rogem thread, same result -.-

Crap. So the client really is bonkers now? I was away for quite some time... mostly because I was feeling somewhat blue about the server. It felt like there really was no point in working on it anymore.
Maybe it is so for some people, but it isn't for others. I should finish updating that new client I was working on. It was just so much work :S But that's what happens when you do not update in a long time.
Sigh, well, I guess I should head back to fixing that client, because the one we had is so totally dead now :S

EDIT: Fruit, there are quite SOME things which I would have done better with GW2, but it's good enough that I don't mind and can still enjoy the game. Though, curiously enough, Lothar told me that you quit because your necromancer minion's AI was crap, which is weird because mine seemed just fine. At least they all fight as expected :S Anyway, that would be a derailing so perhaps it's best not to try to start a discussion about that.

thank you skot, may this server never die like my addiction to this one.... i've played it long time ago and i've never found any other server with this degree of custom changes that leave a good taste after playing ( well, maybe being asura'd by porings at lvl 1 is unforgettable and a little humiliating) but still and also now i have friends willing to join my crusade, to conquer this untamed land of never ending dificulty.

Spawns and respawn rates are not associated to the map population, Bomb. There is a recharge time of around 30 seconds before a defeated mob resurrects. If there were many, many players on a map, what would likely happen is that areas where the players are would start getting deserted (since mobs do not spawn on sight of players), and they would start gathering on unvisited areas.
Players would be forced to move around and look for these unvisited areas which likely would have gathered the majority of mobs, before they get again dispersed to unpopulated areas.
I think, in the long run, it would mean much more wandering before enemies show up. If you had players equally distributed all over the map so that no space is available without mobs on sight, then monsters just would be kept waiting to be spawned indefinitely: thus an empty map.
Of course, if the population ever reached that point, then I'd just allow mobs to spawn on sight of players after some ~10 tries to find an empty space.

I was hoping to actually finish this week, but today I got swamped with some paperwork for Canada, and I am exhausted... the story ain't over, so who knows. I really want to have an update working before the next weekend (Nov 9), though.

Meh, I can't even get to login to the server. The client is sending some kind of data which is totally unrecognized by the server. The login packet, despite the command being recognized, is actually throwing out a single digit instead of the username x_x
