to e honest, I don't give a fuck about skot's progress. I'm about to assemble my i7-4770k, gtx 670 rig in a few days. its unlikely that an updated mouro will be more fun than any of the alternatives.

I just love seeing people asking for thirds. skot spends so much time implementing them, and when he is finished he will have maybe 10 players online, which quickly drops down to 1 or 2 after the novelty has worn off. you guys are trolling him worse than I ever did.

I don't think he's spending any time at all on them - I think he's doing dungeons in Guild Wars 2. But really, all we have are guesses right now.

On a related note, that's a monster rig for gaming. Do any games use the i7's ridiculous capabilities yet? A crappy i5 seems to run anything maxed out already.

i don't think so. but I multitask heavily. I usually have 200+ tabs  open in firefox, 100+ in opera and a dozen more in IE + computer engineering programs (MATLAB, assembly programming) and textbook pdfs, powerpoint lecture slides etc open simultaneously.

besides that, i'm getting the i7 bnib for $275 tax free. and the power bill (according to cpuboss) is half as much as the previous gen so I save money in the long run (or at least reduce the comparative cost) and get better performance

I haven't been able to work much the previous week, I've been mostly sick, and busy when not @_@; The work I am currently doing (or as soon as I feel better) is on just getting a new client working, I wish MouRO would at least work properly and without some of the awful bugs I keep hearing others bump into :S

As for migration to rAthena and adding thirds... eek. That's really a lot more work than I'd want to spend :S And I just don't see enough motivation in the RO-scene as for it all to be worth it, frankly  It might have made sense back when rA just started....

But then again, perhaps it was fate that just as I finished migrating MouRO to eA trunk (rather than stable), I learn that eA was abandoned in favour of rA... that sort of setback totally ruins your drive...

And so the 3rds dream ends... time to pack up my stuff and leave...

On a related note, that price for an i7. Where do you guys FIND those deals (and do they ship to Brazil)? My i5 was slightly over twice that, no joke.

The i7 was on craigslist. Some guy got it as a gift but didn't want it because he have to buy a new motherboard. So it was bnib. These bnib usually show up after Christmas. Just make sure to check that the box is sealed and open it before you pay so that you don't end up buying an empty box. I'm sure some craigslist users would take used, uncleaned vibrators as payment. But a blowjob would be far more expedient.
